I’m looking for a digital artist to start a web comic.

What I have to offer:

1) I am a writer with lots of good ideas and a real knack for popular culture. I also have lots of contacts and some experience in the field (of web comics)
2) An experienced web developer with years of server side experience. Seriously. His computer Kung Fu is not to be fucked with.
3) A page layout/graphic designer who is also a nasty piece of work with a keyboard.
4) Long term commitment.

What I’m looking for:

1) Someone’s what can draw good and stuff. Seriously though. You need to have the ability to draw, ink and color well. Preferably digitally because it allows for scalability and transference of original materials for other uses.
2) A unique style. If you are good then that’s great. If you have a look that sets you apart from the crowd of other comic artists then even better.
3) Someone who can deliver on a deadline. We will start with a Monday, Wednesday, Friday update schedule (we may add a Saturday or special at some point depending on how things go). I’ll write the comic and blog/journal with input from the entire team. You’ll draw it. The tech guys will chuck it up on the intertubes.
4) Someone who is equally committed to creating a successful webcomic and sticking with it as long as it remains successful.
5) Someone who isn’t batshit crazy and thinks the world revolves around them because they are an “arteest”.

I’m not going to tell you that I’m going to make you a gajillionaire. Unless you think that’s a real number in which case… yes. I’ll make you a gajillionaire. What I can tell you is that domain registration, server side applications, PHPBB forums, ads, store…. it’s all handled. I’ll provide the content, you draw the pictures and we will see if lightning strikes.

No this isn’t a paying gig. Yes I realize most people who work want to be paid. What I’m looking for is someone who is willing to take a chance and invest some sweat equity and build something. We can talk about how to distribute any money the comic makes when it starts making some. Something that will no doubt take time. Disclosure will be full. No one will get cornholed.
